Parish Primary Schools

Vibrant hubs for learning in each parish for children, their families and local communities.

Parish Primary Schools will create a learning hub in each parish which mobilises the strengths and assets of communities in support of our schools.

In July 2021, the Government announced the decision to establish parish primary schools as part of its promise to make our education system more equitable so that high-quality education would be accessible to all young people.

As a result of this decision, a number of primary school sites have been identified as future parish primary schools and the remaining primary school sites will be discontinued as public primary schools.
These changes will be phased in over a 3 to 5-year period, beginning after the end of the 2022/23 school year and ensure that learning will be personalized, relevant and inspiring, taking place within modern, safe and healthy, well-resourced facilities that support the types of education we want to ensure for each and every young person.
